​LIFE SKILLS CENTER:​​

Nutritional Meals

Voices of New Life provides food for the community by partnering with the North Texas Food Bank, Sharing Life, and Texas 211.We offer hot meals Monday through Friday from 12 to 1 also our food drive is every Tuesday from 10 to 1. We are focused on ending childhood hunger. With 1 in 5 children going hungry within our communities, our work is critical to the welfare of the nation’s youngest residents. We seek not only to provide children in need with nutritional meals, but we also provide educational support focused on teaching parents and families how to prepare affordable nutritional meals. We hope to make an end to childhood hunger a national priority as well as provide nutritional meals for the homeless.

We provide low-income women and men who seek to join or re-enter the workforce with career clothing become stronger contributors to their families and communities. We believe anyone who wants a job, should be dressed appropriately to get one.

Transitional Housing

We help individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, reentry, and substance abuse in Dallas by providing safe housing and effective supportive services as they transition from homelessness to permanent housing, recovery, and self-sufficiency.

We assist qualified low-income individuals with job training skills that are noted  on the targeted occupations list for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The training will help them obtain livable wage jobs to become self-sufficient.

Our goal is to assist students ages six to eighteen with their writing skills, reading and math skills to help teachers get their classes excited about writing, reading and math. Our work is based on the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing, reading, and math skills are fundamental to future success.

Computer

Literacy

We provide computer-training skills for low-income individuals that will increase their skills and access to obtaining jobs in order to become self-sufficient. This includes typing, using the Internet, creating email accounts and introducing Microsoft Office and other programs essential to entering the workforce.

Financial

Literacy

Our goal is to bring practical financial education to the youth as well as adults. We are dedicated to inspiring empowered financial decision making for individuals and families through every stage of life. From paying for college to planning for retirement, we help students and adults of all ages make smart financial decisions.
